I am the True Vine | Therefore I am
In John 15, Jesus says, "I am the true vine, and you are the branches." Now, I know "the vine" might not be something we think about often, but it's a big deal. Picture it this way: A vine is the source of nourishment and strength for the branches. Without the vine, the branches wither. Simple as that.
Jesus wants us to understand that our strength, our life, our fruitfulness all come from being connected to Him. He's the vine. We're the branches. When we stay connected to Him—abiding in Him—fruit naturally follows. No striving. No forcing it. Just staying grafted in, drawing life from Him.
Maybe you feel like you've been trying everything, but still not seeing the fruit. Maybe you're tired of trying and failing. But here's the thing: It's not about your effort; it's about your connection. When you stay rooted in Christ, He empowers you to bear fruit, not by striving, but by abiding.
And here's the best part—God has already given you everything you need to live a godly life. He's equipped you with the tools, the resources, and the Holy Spirit to bear fruit. It's not up to you to make it happen on your own. All He asks is that you stay connected to the vine.
Pray With Us!
Jesus, thank You for being the true vine. Thank You for inviting us to be grafted into Your strength, Your life, and Your love. Help us to abide in You daily, knowing that apart from You, we can do nothing. Give us the peace and rest that come from being deeply connected to You. We want to bear fruit that honors You. Amen.
Let's Reflect:
What areas of your life feel disconnected or fruitless right now? How can you invite Jesus into those areas? What does it look like for you to "abide" in Jesus on a daily basis? How can you share the life and strength you receive from Jesus with others this week?
