I Am the Good Shepherd | Therefore I Am
You know how some days just feel like too much? Like life is noisy, messy, and you're trying to hold it all together with duct tape and coffee? Yeah—us too. But in the middle of all that, Jesus shows up with this beautiful, bold statement: "I am the Good Shepherd." Not just a shepherd. The Good one.
It's kind of wild that He chose that image. Sheep aren't exactly the MVPs of the animal kingdom—they're forgetful, stubborn, and basically defenseless. Sound familiar? Still, Jesus looks at us and says, "I've got you. I'll lead, protect, and even lay down my life for you." That's not just care—it's personal.
He knows your name. He sees you when you're crushed by expectations or tangled in your own mistakes. And instead of walking away, He comes closer. Jesus doesn't bolt when the wolves come. He stays. He fights. He rescues.
Whatever your season—whether you're stuck, searching, or just plain tired—the Good Shepherd is near. He offers peace when you're panicking, direction when you're lost, and comfort when the coyotes start howling in the night.
So today, breathe deep. You're not wandering alone. You've got a Shepherd who's all in for you. And spoiler alert: He's really, really good.
Pray With Us!
Jesus, thank You for being our Good Shepherd. For protecting us, providing for us, and calling us by name. Help us follow Your voice more closely and rest in the peace You offer. Amen.
Let's Reflect:
Where in your life do you need to be reminded that Jesus is your Shepherd? What does following His voice look like in your day-to-day? How can you reflect the care of the Good Shepherd to someone this week?
