I Am The Bread | Therefore I am

Have you ever been so hungry that even your favorite food couldn't quite hit the spot? Maybe you're a fajita fan, or all about some lo mein or pasta—but no matter how full you get, the hunger always comes back. That's life.

But what if there was something—or rather, Someone—who could actually satisfy the deep-down hunger of your soul?

Jesus said, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry." That's not just poetic language—that's a promise. He's not talking about stomachs. He's talking about hearts. The kind of hunger we feel when we're chasing peace, love, purpose… and still coming up short.

In John 6, Jesus feeds 5,000 people with a little boy's lunch and uses that miracle to teach a deeper truth: we're all craving something eternal, and only He can satisfy it. All the habits we're trying to kick, the pain we're trying to numb, the meaning we're desperate to find—it all comes back to this one truth.

We need Jesus.

Here's the best part: the bread He offers isn't just for the "spiritually elite." It's for everyone. For you. For your neighbor. For that family member who feels a million miles away from God. Even the woman in the story who seemed the furthest from faith—Jesus welcomed her with open arms.

So maybe today, whether you're full of questions or full of regret, remember that Jesus invites you to the table. Not because you've got it all together, but because He is the bread of life—and He came for you.

Jesus, thank You for being the bread that truly satisfies. I confess that I've tried to fill my hunger with things that don't last. Help me turn to You first. Thank You for Your love, Your forgiveness, and the invitation to walk with You every day. Amen.
