Purpose | FDF
Have you ever been on a walk with a child who insists on finding the perfect stick? They pick one up, examine it, maybe swing it around a bit, only to toss it aside for another. Eventually, they find the one—not because it's the biggest or the straightest, but because it feels just right in their hand.
In the same way, God is on a walk through history, and He's looking for walking sticks—ordinary people like you and me—to carry out His extraordinary plans. It's not about being the most talented or the most qualified; it's about being willing to be used by Him.
Esther was an orphaned Jewish girl living in exile, yet God positioned her as queen "for such a time as this" (Esther 4:14). She wasn't in that place by accident, and neither are you. Your job, your neighborhood, your family—these are all places where God can use you as His walking stick to bring about His purposes.
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." —Psalm 139:13
You are fearfully and wonderfully made, crafted with intention and purpose. When we embrace our identity in Christ, recognize our unique design, and respond to His calling, we become instruments in His hands—walking sticks that help guide others toward Him.
Pray With Us!
Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me with purpose and intention. Help me to see myself as You see me—a valuable instrument in Your hands. Give me the courage to step out in faith, to embrace my identity in Christ, and to respond to Your calling. Use me, Lord, as Your walking stick to guide others toward Your love and truth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Let's Reflect:
Identity: How does knowing that you are "fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:14) influence the way you view your purpose? Calling: What opportunities has God placed in your current environment (work, school, community) for you to be His instrument? Obedience: Is there something God is prompting you to do that requires courage and trust, similar to Esther's decision to approach the king?
