DAY 11 | Faith Hacks
Look for God
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
Sometimes the complexity of life and the seeming enormity of situations can cloud our vision. We can quote scriptures and even recall experiences we have had with God but there are often moments when we just need to know that we know He is right here right now. Beyond the assurance of His Word and our experiences in prayer He has put in front of us constant reminders of His presence and power.
Consider the reality of the Tree. In all of its amazing majesty and beauty with deep roots, strong trunks and reaching limbs they grow. Years of abundance and years of struggle are measured in its rings, but it grows. Gathering nutrients and moisture from the soil, transporting those through roots, trunk and limbs to leaves that blow beautifully in the wind. These leaves are so remarkable, not just because of the color and abundance but because they serve an amazing process. They require Carbon Dioxide to sustain life and growth. As they absorb Carbon Dioxide, they release a product in the form of Oxygen. This unique structure of God's creation absorbs the exhaled waste of our human lungs and produces the exact product that our lungs need to survive. The tree is separate from the human, yet our mutual existence complements each other so perfectly. There is no reasonable possibility that these two individual systems would evolve separately and yet sustain each other so completely.
God has made this universe in all its complexity to scream the simplicity of not only His existence but His love for us. If you 'LOOK CLOSELY" you can see examples of His hand and His heart. The chemical balances that exist to such specific dimensions, the environmental systems that are sustained by exact interplanetary distances, rotation of the Earth and even the Earth's tilt. So many examples of His attention to detail and His desire to show Himself to us. Hollywood was not the inventor of hidden messages and clues buried in visuals and dialogues; God originated the practice masterfully.
Prayer
God help us to see you in everything around us. When we are struggling remind us of who You are and where You are. You are God and You are with us! Amen
