DAY 10 | Faith Hacks

You Are Enough

You ever look in the mirror and think, "What a loser!"? Ok… maybe "loser" is extreme, but you know what I mean. Your life doesn't look anything like you thought it would. The dreams you had are sitting on a dusty shelf somewhere and you basically exist to work and pay bills. Maybe it's just me, but when I'm in this mental place it's hard for me to fathom that I have anything to offer or that God can use my life or story in any way. Why would He? There's nothing significant about me. I'm probably not Christian enough. I'm not spiritual enough. I don't pray enough. I'm just a regular schmegular person.

The good news? The Bible is full of unqualified regular people inadvertently playing a role in miraculous stories. One of my favorite examples comes from the book of Esther. In the story, we witness a powerful testament to the simple truth that "you are enough." It sounds cheesy but it's true. No angels showed up and prophesied to her. Esther probably had no idea she was a key player in the story or that she would go on to save her people. She woke up one day, did the best she could with what she had in her hands and God used her to write HIS story. So many times, we try to be what we think God wants us to be. The truth is, we are ALREADY enough. We are the recipients of God's unmerited favor everyday which means we don't have to do anything to be "good enough". Esther wasn't trying to change the world. By simply showing up and being herself, she was able to influence people around her. Today I'm choosing to believe that every conversation, every interaction, every smile at a stranger serves a purpose and that while I may not be where I want to be, I'm right where God needs me to be.

My prayer for you today is that you would look in the mirror and embrace the truth that "you are enough". Your regular day, your imperfect life, your ordinary, can be God's extraordinary. Let's live empowered to navigate today's challenges with resilience and be encouraged that like Esther, God is using us in someone's story right now. Your kids, a coworker, the person that cut you off on the highway this morning —need regular schemgular you.

Affirmation

Because you created me and you don't make mistakes, I choose to believe that I AM ENOUGH.

Reflection

Who is someone you can show up for today? Maybe a text or lending a helping hand. What do you have in your hands? This can be skills, tools, expertise, experience— Give yourself a compliment. Ex. I have the gift of being an extrovert. I'm good at making people laugh! Who is a person that has positively impacted your life? What did they do? How did God use them in your story?
