DAY 12 | Faith Hacks
Remember
My short-term memory is…well, really short sometimes. What did I have for breakfast today? Why did I enter this room? And my long-term memories get fuzzier the further back they go. When it comes to my relationship with God, I know God has been faithful, but I can't always remember quite how that has played out in my life. Re-discovering the specific ways He has helped me and been gracious to me is such an encouragement in times of struggle.
Psalm 77:11 says "I shall remember the deeds of the Lord; surely, I will remember Your wonders of old. I will meditate on all Your work and muse on Your deeds." (NASB)
One of the ways I practice remembering the deeds of the Lord is through journaling, processing my prayers and Scripture on paper, wrestling through life and faith.
Reading back, I can see the themes of His goodness over the years, once-desperate prayers that were answered, and His personal intervention in my life. This practice bolsters my faith for today's challenges and makes it so easy to praise Him! Many a morning I have sat down to pour out my heart to God and opened an old journal only to find that He and I have walked this path before.
May you meditate on His goodness in your life and remember His faithfulness to all generations! (Ps. 100:5)
Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your enduring faithfulness to Your people, and to me personally. Help me to remember Your work in my life and trust You in all things.
Reflection
Have you noticed any patterns in your emotions and prayer life? Take a moment to thank God for His faithful care and love for you! Do you have a system or habit that helps you "remember the deeds of the Lord"? If not, look to ways that help you remember other important things and try one out (e.g. note-taking app, voice memos, doodling)
