This Little Light Of Mine | Hidden in Plain Sight

Your light matters. That's right—you are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14-16). Jesus didn't say find the light or become the light. He said you are the light. That's your identity. When you follow Jesus, everything changes—you go from darkness to light. You're like a butterfly soaring above, not a caterpillar stuck in the dust.

Here's the thing: sometimes we hide our light without even realizing it. Maybe it's because life is busy, and we're running from task to task. Maybe it's because we're afraid we're not good enough or that we'll fail. Maybe it's jealousy, laziness, or just plain procrastination. But here's the truth: your light is meant to shine. Your kindness, your joy, your love, your patience—they all reflect Jesus.

When we let our light shine, something amazing happens. People notice. God gets glorified. The world begins to change—just like the church did during the revival in 18th-century England. Alcoholism decreased, families were strengthened, and hope spread in a way that seemed impossible. One light can spark a whole movement when it reflects the light of Jesus.

Every little act is a chance for Jesus' light to break through the darkness. Let's remember: the goal isn't about us being bright—it's about letting Jesus shine through us. He is the sun, we are the moon—reflecting his glory wherever we go.

Pray With Me!

Jesus, thank You for making me a light in this world. Help me not to hide it but to shine brightly in the dark places. Give me the courage to show kindness, love, and hope to those around me, and may all that I do point people to You. Amen.

Let's Reflect:

What are some ways you might be unintentionally hiding your light right now? How can you intentionally let your light shine in your home, neighborhood, or workplace this week? Who in your life needs a little light right now, and how could you be a reflection of Jesus to them?
