Community | Acts 29

Acts 29 is a chapter that doesn't exist in the Bible... The point is the story of God's people doesn't end with Acts 28. We get to write Acts 29 with our lives, our relationships, and our faith. And the first piece of that? Community.

When Peter preached in Acts 2, about 3,000 people were saved. Did they all go their separate ways? Nope. They devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, meals, and prayer. They weren't just about a personal relationship with Jesus – they were about living life together. Christianity is personal, yes, but it's never meant to be private.

Being part of a spiritual family means choosing to belong. You can't just pop in when it's convenient or show up for the big holidays. God wants you planted, with roots that go deep – flourishing in your faith, your family, and your friendships.

Next step? Learn to share. Life gets lonely when we keep our experiences, joys, and struggles to ourselves. Sharing isn't just about big, dramatic moments – it's sharing meals, stories, prayers, and even your mistakes. That's where healing, encouragement, and growth happen.

Then partner with each other. Community is not just about giving a little time; it's about giving your life – your gifts, your talents, your treasure – for the sake of others and for God's Kingdom. The church isn't peripheral; it's central. We're partners in an incredible enterprise where God works through ordinary people to change the world.

God calls us to be the community He dreamed of: a family, a team, a fire that warms, inspires, and changes lives. The choice is ours.

Pray with me!

God, thank You for placing us in a family of believers. Help us to choose to belong, to share generously, and to love like family. Ignite our hearts with Your fire so that our community shines brightly with Your love, joy, and grace. Amen.

Let's Reflect:

What does it look like for you to "choose to belong" in your faith community? How have you experienced God working through sharing your life with others? What gifts, talents, or resources could you partner with others to make a difference in your church or community?
