Sharing Your Faith | Acts 29
Have you ever thought, "I want my life to count, but I don't know where to start"? That's exactly where the disciples were after Jesus ascended. Acts 1:8 tells us, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." That mission isn't just for them—it's for us too. So how do we make the mission continue today? Let's break it down in four simple, practical ways, inspired by the people Jesus called His disciples:
Live to make them hungry (Andrew) Andrew followed Jesus because he saw something bigger, something better. Your life—your kindness, your joy, your faith—can make others curious about Jesus. You don't need to have all the answers. Sometimes simply living a life that points to Him is enough. Think of it like sharing Oreos: if your life is the Oreo, your actions are the chocolatey filling that people can't resist.
Ask the question (Peter) Peter didn't start following Jesus on his own; Andrew brought him. Often, people just need someone to ask, "Do you know Jesus?" or "What do you believe about God?" A simple question can open the door to an extraordinary conversation. The risk is small, but the reward could change someone's eternity.
Pray for the lost (Philip)
Some encounters happen because someone prayed faithfully. Philip was called directly by Jesus to meet the Ethiopian eunuch. Today, your prayers can activate God's work in someone else's life. Pray for your friends, your family, your neighbors. Stand in the gap and trust that God is doing what only He can do.
Invite them into a space (Nathanael) Nathanael was invited into the presence of Jesus by Philip. Sometimes, salvation happens in the context of community—at a service, in a small group, or even at a casual Bible study. Invite people into a space where God can meet them. You never know what miracle or moment of conviction might happen when they step in.
Remember, sharing your faith doesn't have to be complicated. Live your life with Jesus at the center, ask the right questions, pray for the lost, and invite others into your community. God does the impossible, but He often asks us to do the possible first.
Pray With Me!
Jesus, thank You for calling me to be part of Your mission. Help me live in a way that points others to You, to ask questions that matter, to pray for those far from You, and to invite them into Your presence. Give me courage to trust You with what I cannot do, and faith to do what I can. Use my life for Your glory. Amen.
Let's Reflect:
Who in your life could you "make hungry" for Jesus simply by how you live? When was the last time you asked someone about their faith, and how did it go? Is there someone you could invite into a space to experience God this week?
