Grace for Our Identity | Grace to & Through

There's a battle happening every day, whether we realize it or not. It's not just about what we do… It's about who we believe we are.

At the core of it all is this truth: you are deeply loved by God.

This isn't an occasional truth; it's a consistent, full, and unconditional. And yet, that's exactly where the enemy pushes the hardest. He tries to cloud, confuse, and diminish your view of God's love. Because if he can distort your identity, he can influence how you live.

But grace tells a different story.

Yes, through Jesus, your sins are completely forgiven—but that's only half of it. At the cross, something else happened. Jesus didn't just take something away (your sin), He gave you something new—your identity.

You are not who you used to be.

So many of us still live like we're on the outside, trying to prove ourselves. But that's not who you are anymore. You are a new creation. Accepted. Righteous. Chosen. Complete.

And here's the key: right believing leads to right living.

When you truly begin to believe who God says you are, it changes how you think, how you respond, and how you walk through life. You stop living like someone trying to become—and start living like someone who already is.

This is the invitation of grace: not just to be forgiven, but to be transformed by a brand new identity in Jesus.

Let's Reflect:

When you think about your identity, what tends to define you most—your past, your performance, or what God says about you? Why do you think it can be harder to believe in your new identity than it is to believe your sins are forgiven? What would change in your daily life if you truly believed you are already accepted, secure, and seated with Christ?

Pray With Me!

Jesus, thank You not only for forgiving me, but for giving me a brand new identity. Help me to truly believe what You say about me—that I am loved, accepted, and made new. When I'm tempted to go back to old ways of thinking, remind me of who I am in You. Teach me to live from a place of rest, confidence, and grace. Amen.
