God Can Get You There From Here
Have you ever wondered if you've missed God's plan?
Maybe you're standing in a place you never expected—a closed door, a broken relationship, an unexpected diagnosis, a job you didn't choose, or the consequences of a decision you wish you could undo. It's easy to hear the quiet voice of discouragement whisper, "You'll never get there from here."
But that voice assumes you're traveling alone.
Jesus said, "I am the way." Not, "I know the way." Not, "I'll show you the way." He is the Way.
That means wherever you are today, the One who knows your destination is already with you.
The apostle Paul experienced this firsthand. He had carefully made plans for where he would preach next, but twice the Holy Spirit closed the door. It must have been confusing. Yet those closed doors weren't God's rejection—they were His redirection. God was leading Paul somewhere even greater than he could imagine.
Jonah's story reminds us of another important truth.
Paul was redirected by God.
Jonah ran from God.
Yet both stories reveal the same grace.
When Jonah ran, God pursued him. The fish wasn't punishment—it was rescue. Even at the bottom of the sea, God was already working to bring him back to his purpose.
That's the beauty of God's grace.
He doesn't simply forgive our wrong turns; He recalculates the route.
Maybe today you're living in what feels like the middle. You're not where you were, but you're not where you hoped you'd be. The waiting feels long. The answers seem delayed.
Don't mistake the middle for the end of the story.
Jesus doesn't always remove us from the storm immediately, but He always stays in the boat. His presence is the assurance that we will arrive exactly where He intends.
Because the destination has never been the point.
Walking with Him has.
So stop measuring your life by how far you've drifted or how many wrong turns you've taken.
Lift your eyes to Jesus.
He is still the Way.
He is still guiding your steps.
And He can still get you there from here.

Looking back, can you identify a time when God used a closed door or unexpected detour to lead you somewhere better?
What would it look like to surrender the "tiller" of your life to Jesus instead of trying to navigate on your own?
Prayer
Father, thank You that no matter where I find myself today, I am never beyond Your reach. Thank You that Jesus is not only the One who knows the way—He is the Way. Help me trust You when doors close, when plans change, and when I find myself in seasons I never would have chosen. Give me the courage to surrender my "here" to You, believing that Your grace is greater than my mistakes and Your plans are better than my own. Lead me where You want me to go, and help me follow with confidence, knowing that You can always get me there from here. In Jesus' name, amen.
