Easter at Shoreline

Easter is so profound because it reminds us that we all show up differently, and that's okay. In the resurrection story, we see three different responses through Mary Magdalene, John, and Peter.

And if we're honest, we can find ourselves in each of them at different moments in life.

Mary came with deep devotion and wonder, but also with grief. She wasn't expecting a miracle; she was expecting a body. Still, she showed up. And in that place of heartbreak, Jesus met her personally.

He didn't preach at her; he simply called her by name. And He still does that today. Jesus meets us right where we are, even when our expectations are low, and reminds us that what feels over isn't final.

John came with belief, but needed clarity. When he saw the empty tomb, something clicked. His faith was strengthened. Many of us live here—we believe, but life has shaken us.

Disappointment, silence, or setbacks have dimmed our confidence. But Easter invites us to look again. The resurrection isn't just a story to admire... It's the truth that restores confidence and revives faith.

Peter came with failure, but needed forgiveness. He had denied Jesus, and he knew it. Yet the resurrection message included him by name. "And Peter." That's grace. Not generic, but personal. Jesus didn't cancel Peter; He called him back. And He does the same for us. No matter how far we've drifted, there is always a way back through Jesus.

So wherever you find yourself today: full of wonder, needing faith, or longing for a second chance... be encouraged that Jesus is alive, and He's still calling your name and wooing you back to him.

Let's Reflect:

Which perspective do you most relate to right now—Mary, John, or Peter—and why? Where might God be inviting you to see your situation differently through the lens of the resurrection? What would it look like for you to respond personally to Jesus this week?

Pray With Me!

Jesus, thank You that You meet me exactly where I am. Whether I come with wonder, doubt, or regret, You are still calling my name. Help me to see You clearly, to trust You deeply, and to receive the grace You freely give. Thank You that my story isn't over because You are alive. Amen.
