David & Goliath

Everyone faces giants. Sometimes they show up in the form of fear, finances, health battles, broken relationships, or a dream that feels just out of reach. Giants surface in different ways, but they all stand in the same place—between where life is and where God has promised it can go.

David's story reminds us that giants don't reveal strength as much as they reveal the heart. While others focused on Goliath's size, God was looking at something deeper. David wasn't the strongest, tallest, or most impressive option. He wasn't even invited into the lineup. Yet God chose him because the Lord doesn't look at outward appearance... He looks at the heart.

Long before David faced Goliath, faith was being formed in quiet places. On hillsides with sheep. In unseen moments of worship. In small victories over lions and bears. Faith was built when no one was watching. That's where courage grows—when trust is practiced in the ordinary.

When the giant finally appeared, David didn't freeze or flee. Passion rose up. Faith spoke. Action followed. A stone was picked up and released. Belief alone wasn't enough, and effort alone wouldn't work either. It took both faith and a stone.

That's still how God works today. Faith trusts God to do what only He can do. Action steps forward in obedience with what's already in hand. The natural meets the supernatural. The heart aligns with heaven. And the battle belongs to the Lord.

Giants fall when faith lives in the heart and obedience moves the hands.

Pray With Me!

God, search the heart and shape it to trust You fully. Give courage to believe You are fighting this battle, and wisdom to take the next obedient step. Let faith rise, action follow, and Your power be made known. Amen.

Let's Reflect:

What giant is currently standing between life as it is and what God has promised? What small, unseen acts of faith might God be using right now to prepare for something bigger? What "stone" needs to be picked up—one practical, obedient step that faith can put into action?
