Abide | FDF
Sunday morning Pastor Rob talked about how his garage door wouldn't open. He thought it was a major issue, but it turned out to be a simple misalignment of the laser sensors. Just an inch off, and the whole system stopped working. It's a perfect picture of how our spiritual lives can feel off when we're not properly aligned with Jesus.
In John 15:4, Jesus says, "Abide in Me, and I in you." He's inviting us into a relationship that's about constant connection, not occasional check-ins. It's like being plugged into a power source; without that connection, we can't function the way we were created to.
Abiding isn't about adding more to your to-do list—it's about inviting Jesus into the everyday moments of life. Whether you're changing diapers, answering emails, or cooking dinner, He's right there with you. It's about turning ordinary moments into sacred ones just by acknowledging His presence.
It's not about perfection; it's about connection. And the more we practice abiding, the more we experience the joy, peace, and power He promises.
Pray With Us!
Jesus, thank You for being the true Vine. I want to stay connected to You—not just in church or when life gets hard, but in every part of my day. Help me to slow down, to notice You, and to draw strength from Your presence. Teach me to abide—not striving, but resting and receiving. Thank You for always being near. Amen.
Let's Reflect:
Where have you noticed a disconnect in your relationship with Jesus lately, and what might be causing it? What are some small, practical ways you can begin to build a habit of abiding each day? When you think about Jesus being with you in the ordinary moments, how does that change the way you view your daily routine?
