From Garden to Garden
Shoreline Family,
Easter is such a beautiful reminder of the profound journey from creation to resurrection. This year we witnessed the divine narrative unfold within the beauty and symbolism of the four gardens. From Eden's perfection to Gethsemane's surrender, each garden was a sacred space where the greatest events of human history were planted and blossomed.
We begin in the lushness of Eden, where life with God was in perfect harmony, to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus, in anguished prayer, chose the Father's will above all. Our journey then took us to the Garden of the Empty Tomb, the place we both mourned and rejoiced, as our savior went from death to life.
In the quiet of these gardens, we see God's love for beauty and His desire for closeness with us. Through the sacrifice of Jesus, we are invited back into that perfect communion, with the promise of an eternal garden, a paradise restored, the Garden of God.
Prayer
Gracious Creator and Sustainer, in the quiet of these gardens, we feel Your presence. From the first bloom in Eden to the last stone rolled away, Your love has been our guide. Thank You for the path through each garden that leads us closer to You. As we stand in the light of Your resurrection, help us to hold fast to the promise of eternal life in the paradise You've prepared for us. Amen.
Reflection
How do the gardens of Eden and Gethsemane reflect the contrasts of human choice and divine providence in our own lives? What does the garden of the empty tomb teach us about hope and expectation, especially when faced with the finality of death? As we consider the promise of the Garden of God, our future paradise, how does this shape our understanding of heaven and eternal life with Christ?
