The Stones Cry Out

Picture this, our Lord approaching, not on a war horse but on a donkey, signifying peace. Not with a sword, but with a message of salvation. His entrance is humble, yet the response is royal; a beautiful interplay of majesty and meekness.

As Jesus moved forward, the air was thick with the people's cries of "Hosanna!" They recognized Him as the one who comes in the name of the Lord, the one who performs wondrous deeds. Yet amidst this, a stark warning from Christ cuts through the praise: if humanity were to fall silent, the stones themselves would shout in adoration.

In this moment, we are reminded that all of creation is designed to worship its Creator. The flowers bloom, the earth turns, the seasons change—all in a rhythm of worship. We, too, are called to join this chorus of creation, proclaiming the works and wonder of our God.

Prayer

Holy God, teach us to live lives of worship that reflect the joy and surrender of Palm Sunday. May we never be out-praised by the stones, but instead be leaders in exalting Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Reflection

In what ways can we ensure that our worship is as passionate as the response Jesus received on that first Palm Sunday? How does the image of Jesus riding humbly on a donkey challenge our understanding of power and leadership? Reflect on a time when you saw God's handiwork in creation. How did it inspire you to worship, and how can we bring that sense of awe into our daily lives?
