Persistent Prayer | Dear Church

Life can be absolutely bananas, and often, we feel like our prayers are hitting the ceiling in those moments. That's relatable, and at the same time, scripture encourages us to keep praying, even when we are feeling discouraged! In 1 Thessalonians 3:9-13, prayer isn't just a one-time request—it's an ongoing conversation with God. He prays night and day for the church, demonstrating the perseverance we need in our prayer life.

Jesus Himself told a parable about a persistent widow who kept knocking on a judge's door until she got justice (Luke 18:1-8). She didn't give up, and Jesus said that's exactly how we should pray—without losing heart.

It's not because God is reluctant to answer but because He uses the process to shape us, prepare us, and grow our faith. Sometimes, the waiting refines us. Sometimes, the answer comes immediately. And sometimes, the answer is different from what we expected—but always better than what we imagined.

Prayer isn't about informing God of our needs (though He loves that too). It's about dependence. It's about trust. It's about aligning our hearts with His and allowing Him to work in ways we can't yet see.

Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Because the God who hears your prayers is also the God who loves to answer.

Pray With Us!

Lord, thank You for always hearing us. Teach us to pray with perseverance, trusting that You are at work even when we don't see it. Strengthen our faith and help us lean into You daily. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Let's Reflect:

Have you ever experienced a time when persistent prayer led to an unexpected or delayed answer? How did that shape your faith? What areas in your life do you feel God is calling you to pray about more consistently? How can you shift your mindset from seeing prayer as a task to seeing it as a daily connection with God?
