Some days are full of wonder, joy and the best this life can offer. Some days are longer than others, dragging on hour by hour, minute by minute, moment by relentless moment.
Low level discontent nags at the human heart and we find ourselves thinking, there has to be more to life than this. Is God the author of our longing?
Throughout human history, every culture and every religion has some sort of belief in life after death. Fascinating, isn’t it? The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:11 “God has planted eternity in the human heart.” We were wired this way – aching for more, hoping for Heaven.
Heaven is God’s home. Have you heard that Jesus is preparing a place for you in the Father’s house? He is a carpenter after all. He’s always adding on, knocking down walls, building out and making space. Preparing a place for you.
Home is where we let our hair down. It’s where we grow our families and welcome our friends. Home is where we reunite with those we love. Home is connection, contentment and comfort.
So when you find yourself dissatisfied, discontent or disconnected, remember that heaven is your home. There IS more to life than our experience on earth!

John 14:2-3 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you,I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
I Thessalonians 4:13-14, 17-18 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died…Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lordi n the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words.
