Way back in Genesis chapter 1 when God created the world, he admired his work. He said, “It’s good; it’s very good.” But in Genesis chapter 2 God said something completely different. He said, “It is NOT GOOD that man should be alone.”
This rings true today. We need each other! Relationships enrich our lives. When we share our challenges the struggle is cut in half. When we share our triumphs the joy multiplies.
We want to challenge you to get connected in relationship, and the truth is there is no better place to do that than here in your church. Small groups and serving groups are the perfect place to find like-minded people to share the journey of life.
Getting connected will expand your heart. Proverbs 18:1 says, “A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire.” The more people you have in your life, the more your heart expands.
Getting connected will keep you accountable. Alone, we are vulnerable. When we stand together, we overcome temptation.
Getting connected makes you smarter. It’s true! Proverbs 27:17 says, “as iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another.” We all have blind spots. We need friends who aren’t afraid to create a few sparks and open our eyes to the reality we can’t see.
Getting connected brings wholeness. People who isolate themselves are more susceptible to depression and despair. (More on that here.) Healing comes in the context of healthy relationship.
