Church is For Fish

Having a clear, strong vision gives you direction, protection and motivation. It is one of the most powerful forces that will influence your life. Vision contains the seeds of a future reality.

Every area of your life needs a vision!  Without vision we are like a fish out of water.

Where there is no vision, the people perish Proverbs 29:18 NKJV

Even the church needs a vision. Our vision at Shoreline three-fold.

Peace With God – We are passionate about helping people know God’s love and grace. We believe when people know God they will know peace. When Jesus called his disciples, he called them to fish for people.

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” Matthew 4:18-19 NIV

When we bring people into the family of God and help them find a home in his church, it’s like helping a fish find life sustaining water.

Wholeness – Fish can survive without water about long enough to pose for a picture. The more time they spend out of water the more nurturing they need when you return them to water.  We are not much different. The more time we spend lost and searching for our place in the world, the more nurturing we need.

We believe the church is a place where people can find wholeness, where they can find healing, where they can find life!

Significance – As Christians we believe that what we do with our lives can actually impact eternity. We can make a difference!  When we feel like we are making a difference we find significance.

We want Shoreline to be the most joyfully connected place on earth! Join us this weekend for a great big celebration of life. Cast your line and invite a few fish-friends to join you!
